About Elysée Expertise

Elysée Expertise is a subsidiary of a family business active in the European diamond capital of Antwerp for over three generations.

Our diamond experts’ knowledge and experience stem from years of active presence in the diamond industry, building a network, and participating in auctions and exhibitions worldwide. Elysée Expertise was born out of the passion of our experienced diamond experts for precious stones, which we love to share with you. We want you to be as passionate about the jewelry you own as we are. In addition to valuing your jewelry, we also enable it to have a second life and a new story.

Selling your diamond in Paris

How do we determine the value of your diamonds?

When evaluating your antique or modern jewelry, we consider several factors.

We start by identifying the type of stone in your jewelry, differentiating between diamonds and imitations, and determining whether there are precious stones (emeralds, sapphires or rubies) or semi-precious stones (tourmaline, spinel, garnet, etc.) present. If the jewelry contains diamonds or precious stones we can provide an additional evaluation to determine its exact value.

To value a diamond or precious stone, we use the 4 Cs:

“Cut grade” of the diamond

The cut of your diamond determines its final value. Cut shapes include the most valuable, round brilliant, and fancy shapes such as pear, emerald cut, oval, marquise, princess, etc. This also takes into account polish and symmetry.

Color

The color is also taken into account. These differences in color are difficult to distinguish with the naked eye, but largely determine the value of your diamond. The most valuable color is completely transparent, without any trace of yellow.

Clarity

To determine the purity of a diamond, a 10x magnification magnifying glass is used. This involves examining the impurities inside the diamond, where there may be a presence of crystals or feathers, for example. The purer the diamond, the higher its quality and value. The degree of purity of the diamond depends, among other things, on the size, color and location of the impurity.

Carat

This is the weight of the diamond. This weight comes from the seed of a carob tree, which weighs 0.2 grams and was used in the past as a counterweight on the scales to weigh gems. A carat is therefore equivalent to 0.2 grams or 100 points and is always expressed as a decimal number with 2 decimal places (e.g. 1.50 ct or 150 points).

Selling your antique and modern jewelry in Paris

We are interested in purchasing all types of jewelry pieces, including loose diamonds and precious stones, as well as earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, and more. Whether it’s modern or antique, we are open to buying it, with a preference for signed jewelry from renowned brands such as Boucheron, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Our area of expertise lies in jewelry containing diamonds or precious stones, so that’s what we’re particularly interested in.

When evaluating your jewelry, we take into account the piece’s history, demand among our clientele, and overall beauty to determine if it aligns with our interests. If you’re unsure about the type of jewelry piece you have, don’t hesitate to reach out to us, as we can always refer you to an appropriate buyer.
